Edible Planet is the passion of Fiona and Karl Summerfield. We both enjoy cooking dishes from all around the world and generally experimenting in the kitchen. We got frustrated trying to locate ingredients in Christchurch and driving all over town to track them down. The idea for our physical shop Summerfields Foods was born. We opened this online store a few weeks later so that you didn't even have to live in Christchurch to benefit from our great range of ingredients and foodie supplies. We have spent the last four years, trying ingredients and researching so you can trust the products we have chosen to give you a really delicious dish.

We get our products currently from all over New Zealand. We buy our German products off a German guy, Stefan, in Kerikeri, our French products come from Frenchman Raphael in Hamilton, most of our Thai comes from a Thai guy Jimmy and so it goes. Cooking should be fun and we hope you enjoy shopping here and we would love to help if you have any queries.

After the February earthquake, we had to shut our physical shop, but this web shop is still going strong. We're proud that we can still offer our amazing customer service and quality products to Kiwi foodies.
